Bendall Books was established in 1993 and was operated by Raymond Bendall until 2007. Mr Bendall enjoyed a varied career in publishing, having held editorial, production and management positions for a small independent magazine, a large government information office, and a medium-sized national cultural association. Prior to establishing his firm, Raymond was managing editor at Vancouver Community College Press, publishing educational materials for the college sector.
In 2007, Mary Moore, Raymond’s associate and wife, took over the management of the company after Raymond suffered a serious stroke. They still live in Mill Bay (on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada) with their daughter, Alison, and one cat, Tigerlily.
Mr Bendall has retired from publishing, but has taken to driving across the continent and writing, with humour and insight, about his adventures as a physically-challenged traveller.
